Job Racketeering Suspect, Haruna Kolo, Faces Arrest Following Orders from Reps Committee

The House of Representatives Committee, responsible for investigating allegations of job racketeering within the Federal Character Commission (FCC), has taken action to order the apprehension of Haruna Kolo, the central figure under scrutiny.

Yusuf Gagdi, the Chairman of the Committee, issued the arrest warrant on Thursday due to Kolo’s repeated failure to attend the hearings.

It is worth recalling that Kolo had previously provided testimony before the Committee, wherein he acknowledged his involvement in collecting money from job seekers on behalf of FCC’s Chairman, Muheeba Dankaka.

During the hearing held on Monday, Kolo openly admitted to receiving substantial sums from various applicants and subsequently transferring the funds to Ms. Dankaka.

Nevertheless, Kolo has abstained from further appearances before the Committee following Monday’s session.

Addressing Kolo’s persistent absence, the Committee Chairman instructed the clerk to initiate the process of obtaining an arrest warrant. He further mandated the pertinent security agencies to take Kolo into custody and present him before the Committee in time for Monday’s session.

For Haruna Kolo, the position of this committee is that he would lose his freedom. We will issue a warrant of arrest in respect of Haruna Kolo and compel security agencies to present him before this committee at any given period if he is so arrested,” he said.

The committee subsequently postponed the inquiry until Monday.
